Today's forecast was for all day sunshine so I was dying to go outdoors and go for a walk. Andrew was home sick with a bad cold so I headed off on my own for a bit of adventure.
Small natural lake outside the village.
A lonely tree.
Sheep grazing up on Fontmell Down (strange that a hill is called a down, considering that I had to walk UP it to take this pic!)
Looking down over the village of Compton Abbas.
Umm... a dead plant (sorry, don't know the species but looks similar to Fennel? Suse, what do you think?)
Looking back up the track as I head back down into our village
Looking back toward the village and the Blackmore Vale in the background
Our house is almost smack bang in the centre of this photo (row of three cottages, just above the dark hedge but below the farm buildings). If you want a better view, click on the photo and it should open a larger image.

Snow beautiful snow, Mother Nature is surely putting on a display this year. Wish I was there - 'beam me over, scotty' - no such luck. Enjoy it as a sight of a lifetime.
Brendan and I are thinking the hills in the background are skiable as they are right now!!
:D
So gorgeous. Is the lake frozen a little?
Taken with your P+S or the DSLR? really nice shots!! :)
Just my little P&S - not bad eh?? I considered taking the DSLR but it is quite heavy and too big for my wee little hands LOL!
I was thinking of Brendan and you when I was up there, I don't think the snow was quite deep enough for skiing, your skis would have been scratched :( another 20 or 30cm would have been perfect!
it's white we'll dodge the bushes.
that plant could be Yarrow it's an asteraceae species, saw it in a book today actually, quite a coincidence. Said it grows in fields and amongst hedges through all of england :)
I suppose if you're that keen! I saw someone snowboarding (quite slowly mind you) down the hill this morning :D
That makes perfect sense!
In answer to your previous Q, yes the lake/pond was partially frozen.
How about some more gorgeous images - have you been able to be out and about? Hear there is more snow already/predicted. Is it true, Brits don't carry/own chains? P
Hope it snows like this when we come to visit :D :D :D
is it hanging around? Saw a satellite image of the UK and it's allll white!
I cant believe all the snow - its amazing!
